Tzartos NeuroDiagnostics

The group of Professor S. Tzartos specializes in diagnosis and research in Neuroimmunology. The group has internationally recognized contributions of 35 years, held mainly at the Hellenic Pasteur Institute, the Department of Pharmacy of the University of Patras and more recently at Tzartos NeuroDiagnostics. Among other activities for many years the group develops and implements specialized diagnostics of high sensitivity for neuroimmune diseases such as myasthenia gravis and neuromyelitis optica.

Neuroimmunology combines the study of the nervous and the immune system and the interactions between them. This is a rapidly growing field as it attracts more and more scientists from various fields of the biomedical research.

Several immunologic diseases of the central and peripheral nervous system show similar symptoms. This makes it difficult for the doctor to make an accurate diagnosis. The development of specific diagnostics is a key element in the differential diagnosis and successful treatment of the disease. The staff of Tzartos NeuroDiagnostics has the appropriate expertise to meet this need and provides the results in the least possible time and at as low prices as possible.

In research, the laboratory in addition to its research to develop new diagnostics, it participates, with particular interest, in research protocols in collaboration with interested clinicians.
